From Sketch to Scene: Why Blender Is My Favorite Playground

Before Gavzia, I spent years designing buildings, spaces, and experiences as an architect. I’d invest hours perfecting material UVs and lighting, obsessing over whether my line weights were just right. My day would start with AutoCAD and end with either Rhino — or me staring blankly at SketchUp as it asked, "Are you sure you want to do that?"

Then I discovered Blender, and it unlocked a whole new world of creative freedom. It wasn’t just a modeling tool - it became a space where sketches took on a life of their own, lighting could tell stories, and every corner of a scene could be shaped without physical limits.

At Gavzia, Blender is where a lot of our game environments, prototypes, and interactive objects come to life. I use it not just for modeling, but for world-building - translating a feeling, a moment, or a design system into something you can actually explore. One minute I’m sculpting a sci-fi corridor, the next I’m animating a surreal landscape that bends physics. After that, I’m imagining my YouTube channel hitting a million subscribers and me becoming a celebrity - haha.

Blender lets me design faster, experiment wilder, and visualize everything before it hits the game engine. It’s our virtual workshop - and honestly, my happy place.
